What is a GSR (General Service Representative)?

“…transmit ideas and opinions, as well as facts; through [GSR], the group conscience becomes a part of “the collective conscience of our whole Fellowship,” as expressed in the General Service Conference. September 2026

  • The date for Manhattan Share A Day has been moved to Sunday November 1st. The next planning meeting will be on Sunday September 20th at 3pm. Please see flyer below for zoom meeting details.

  • The hardcover edition of the fifth edition of the Big Book is scheduled to be released in February 2027. It will have 26 new stories and a removable dust jacket.

August 2026

  • World Services is considering making printed copies of the Final Conference Report from this year’s General Service Conference available only on demand.  They’re currently considering a price of around $6 - $7.

  • Ownership transition for the Everything AA app is moving along. World Services expects the app will pay for itself soon.

  • Proposed Agenda Items for next year’s General Service Conference approved by SENY:

    • Consider creating American Sign Language versions of the AA Service Manual and the pamphlets The AA Group, The God Word, and A Brief Guide to AA.

    • Undertake a comprehensive review of the accuracy of literature cross-referenced in Daily Reflections.

July 2026

  • Manhattan County is planning a Proposed Agenda Item (PAI) for the next General Service Conference (GSC). The PAI will propose that AA translate the following pamphlets into American Sign Language (ASL):

    • The God Word

    • A Brief Guide to AA

  • Our District, District 602, is looking to start a monthly meeting to Sloan Kettering. Contact dcm@602.aaseny.org if you’re interested in helping to carry the message there.

  • The General Service Office (GSO) at Riverside Drive is back open for tours! Contact Andrea O if you’d like to join Midnite in visiting. We are thinking of going on a Friday morning so we can do both the tour at 10am and their Friday 11am meeting.

  • NERAASA 2027 is scheduled for Feb 26 - 28, 2027 in Tarrytown. See the poster in the Ongoing Announcements section below if you are interested in attending the monthly planning meeting.
